@ladymuck8 Ten Songs Reactions
Mountain Goats - No Children.
Yay :D. not normally a fan of this singing style but there’s something true and honest about it, and I love the background guitar/piano combo. Cheerful and fatalistic :D.
Goodlife - One republic
I love the organ background to this, alongside the broken-beat type rhythm. Gospelly and edgy all at once and the music video makes me happy.
Welcome home, son Radical Face
YES :D I couldn’t tell you what ad this is from but I do recognise it. So warm. Made me want to be back in Glastonbury wearing stupid socks and flowers and embarassing you by dancing. A lot.
One day like this, elbow
I like this guy’s voice, and the melody and the spirit - the violin combo is v close to being cheesy. but still - the last thing I liked form the was ‘grounds for divorce’, so I think I prefer their edgier stuff, but this again would be perfect for a summer soundtrack.
Alkemisti - Parrisin Kevat
YES RANDOM ACCORDIAN MUSIC! It’s french but I shall forgive you. As you can tell me from my playlist I’m well into random european music so this is awesome. Fiesty and romantic with a mindblowing tuber drop at forty seconds. couldn’t ask for more. This does my absolute favoruite thing in music - combine genres and I’m well down with that shit, even without knowing what’s going on. Totally brill.
Chris Rea - Let’s Dance
YES trumpets and horns and country music and a brilliantly retro music video. A bit aggressively happy for this particular time in my life, but if you ignore his face this is very pallatable.
Samson - Regina Spektor
A touch of the ‘Hallelujah’ vibe going here, which I totally dig. Lovely melody again, exactly the sort of thing I would try and sing and really fucking embarass myself trying on to adapt for guitar and fail miserably. A bit too dark for this time in my life as well… :P
Two headed boy - Neutral Milk hotel
Got distracted listening to this by a youtube commenter who asked if he thought one of the members looked like Anne Frank. But yes, one voice and a guitar. I like the aggressive edge, strident - I find that uplifting, but that’s me. Another massive thumbs up. I’ll admit I was disturbed by the name. Definiely want to find the guitar tab for this.
Sweet home alabama - LS
Hells to the yeah. This brings back memories both good - Josh Lucas (actor in that film) - and bad, in that it’s the first thing i learnt to play on the guitar and just reminds me of heinous disgusting frustration. But dayum I want to pack this revision shit in so hard, find a classic american car and blow this joint.
This was an awesome idea. Awesome recs.
